What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a comprehensive health practice that emphasises a holistic approach. In Australia, naturopathic therapies often focus on nutrition, lifestyle and Western herbal medicine. Explore all the modalities offered by Radiant Naturopathics on our Services page.

A naturopath’s practice is guided by six core principles:

  1. Healing Power of Nature: Naturopathy leverages the body's inherent capacity to restore and maintain health, supporting and enhancing natural healing processes.

  2. Identify and Treat Root Causes: Rather than just alleviating symptoms, naturopathic medicine aims to uncover and address the underlying causes of illness, ensuring more effective and lasting solutions.

  3. First, Do No Harm: Naturopathic treatments prioritise safety and gentleness, focusing on non-invasive methods that minimise the risk of adverse effects.

  4. Doctor as Teacher: Educating patients is a cornerstone of naturopathy. Practitioners provide guidance and resources, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health.

  5. Treat the Whole Person: Naturopathy takes a comprehensive approach by considering physical, emotional, mental, and environmental factors, treating the individual as a whole rather than targeting isolated symptoms.

  6. Disease Prevention and Health Promotion: Emphasising preventive care, naturopathy promotes healthy lifestyle choices to prevent disease and enhance overall well-being.
